Last weekend I got a random visit from my sister. <> with the Past several Studio Calico

Kits in hand. Ready to work on her project life. It. Was. AWESOME. I owe a lot to her, she's the reason I started scrapbooking 8 years ago when all we knew was Becky Higgins and square frames. Finally I had something to do with all of the art supplies I'd been collecting and hoarding for years. <> Amber is a fantastic person to get scrappy with bc she loves collecting product...and even better, she cheers when I use it. Anyhow, random i know. But this is a shout out, bc she's cool as hell. #totalopposites

the other night I couldn't sleep. It's been insane in my head and after starting a few things that probably won't get finished, I got my Scrapjacked on.

The way Maggie Holmes uses white and throws color and puts product together makes me smile. Plus I have handwriting envy. BIG TIME.

I'd look good as a Jones.

In keeping up with the jones's, I am caught up on project life.

Truth is, I enjoy the process of playing with art supplies and seeing the end result..and after that it's just a matter of adding photos. It helps me focus on what's really important right now, per day. Per week. Last year didn't fly past the same way others have, and I wish SO MUCH that it was something I had already been doing for years.

transforming weird Christmas presents

we all get weird stuff from people during the holidays. some things we are left to wonder what we would even do with them or put them, and as artistic people we end up with a lot of supplies that we would never buy ourselves and don't have a receipt for.

This year I got a three-ring 12x12 album but it's black. Nothing in my house is black. Give me grey or gold or orange, but..even on sale those things aren't cheap, so I figure let's paint this.

Once I started with gesso, I knew I had to commit. I didn't get too crazy with adding layers of paper or tissue or anything, bc I'm using this for Project Life and I need to be able to take a beating. :)))

I love a sketch

I like January. It's slow and quiet. And it makes way for a lot of time to scrap that I didn't find in December...

JANUARY=organize

so far this month, going along with the theme organize bc my life is in disarray. almost everything I own is in its home/where it belongs. this feels like a total victory bc now i can move on to the nitty gritty. sorting through all the things I have saved over the years from magazines and the crazy attic and so on and so forth. also getting a home for all these pages:

i don't believe in resolutions. but i do believe in working towards positive change that you already want/need. i also believe i am a hypocrite who contradicts herself all the time, so take what i say with a grain of sand.
