The return of painting on fabric:

I love doing it. Truth is, my pile of thrifted cloth items I invest in just to paint on grows pretty big before I ever get around to it. I forget, every time, how much I dig it.

So first was the pillow. It's this amazing 1970s mellow yellow. I knew right away that I needed it. But there was no pattern. And I am a pattern obsessed human. So. For $1 I decided I'd paint it. Here's the start:

I taped it down to my huge paint-board. Used a ruler to mark off some lines so things didn't get too crazy.

Spray paint first. It's easy to paint over when the material is pulled tight.

Next were stencils. I just chose my favorites. I love that burnt orange one. Came from Walmart super cheap in a set.

Then I got my stamp on. These circles from Cocoa Daisy Seriously rock. They remind me of the circles Hambly used to make when they first came out.

More stencils with permanent spray ink. Hello, that Studio Calico Zigzag stencil is a dream come true. I just wish it were thicker.
Added some glitter letters. (nothing is really complete without a little glitter, right?)

And va va boom. A pillowcase that makes me smile. Big. (even if I do have to flip it when I actually sleep on it.)

Then was the tank top. I have a Ton of these waiting for love. Same process. Different result:

Get your make on.
